A typical day in the life of Andris starts at around 9.15am…

The first job is to put the coffee machine on to provide a pot of freshly brewed coffee, the aroma adding to the atmosphere in the reception area plus it tastes nice.

A quick check of the diary to get out the appointments cards ready for the first client, this could be a viewing or a sitting. Rose or Trish are on hand to answer the phone to take bookings or enquiries and sending confirmation letters. Other duties include putting together orders or changing the window displays. An important part of their jobs is to show a potential client around the studio. Profiles is a bit like a ‘Tardis’, the reception and street front window is only a small part, The studio has six rooms and is on two floors – reception, viewing room, waiting room with mirror and toilet, studio, 2 offices with toilet and kitchen facilities. The whole building has 1500 sq ft. of space. A feature that many customers comment on is the red carpet and gallery staircase.

This specific day – Saturday 8th January continued something like this…

A viewing taking place - you get to see the results of your photoshoot.

A viewing taking place - you get to see the results of your photoshoot.

First photoshoot sitting – 2 girls and their mum.
A viewing – 5 people.

The next photohoot was cancelled due to sickness.

Photoshoot 2  – Mum dad two children.

Photoshoot 3 – Mum son daughter plus a Westie terrier.

Photoshoot 4 – 6 adults and a baby.

A sitting is when pictures are taken of the clients.  Anything between 50 and 150 images are taken in an average photoshoot.

A viewing is when the clients come back to the studio to see their pictures. The images are displayed life size. Images can be shortlisted to just show the best of the best as a single picture or as several images in a frame.
Before we know it its 4.30! Sigh of relief for a good days work with no problems this is not always the case especially when the snow came and caused several cancellations, or when baby cries non stop or dad would rather be playing golf!

rose066The final most important part of the day is to check the BBC football to find out if Chesterfield have won… yes!!! 3-2. What a result. I’ll wait and see to see what next Saturday brings.

We hope this has given you a brief insight into life at our studio and we look forward to welcoming you to Profiles Portrait Studio very soon.
